JUAN CAMILO ARTUNDUAGA
Juan Camilo concentrates his practice on international and domestic arbitration, infrastructure projects, public law, and dispute resolution with state entities. He has experience in international arbitration under ICC and ICDR rules and domestic arbitration administered under the CCB. Juan Camilo has participated in the structuring, financing, and contracting several PPP projects (in the airport, road, and social sectors), in selection processes for the award of PPP contracts, and in negotiations of EPC and credit contracts.
Before joining Rincón Castro Abogados, he worked in the infrastructure area of one of the largest firms in Colombia. He is currently a professor of International Commercial Arbitration at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
– Participated in the representation of a concessionaire company belonging to an Australian infrastructure fund in an international arbitration under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) based in Madrid against a Spanish construction company for the resolution of disputes arising from an EPC contract for the design and construction of a road project in Colombia.
– Advised KMA Construcción and Grupo Ortiz during the bidding process for the 5G public-private partnership projects of Troncales del Magdalena Medio, jointly valued at more than 7.5 trillion Colombian pesos, of which they were awarded.
– Represented a concessionaire company belonging to an Australian infrastructure fund in an arbitration under CIRD rules based in Bogotá against a Colombian state-owned entity regarding a public-private partnership concession contract for constructing and operating a national highway project.
– He was part of the team that structured and advised the sponsors in the Avenida Longitudinal de Occidente Sector Sur – ALO Sur Project selection process.
– Advised the originator during structuring a public-private partnership project to improve, maintain, and operate Bogota’s international airport.
– I participated in advising a Spanish construction company on the bidding and execution of the largest hospital project under PPP modality in Colombian history.
– Represented a syndicate of Colombian banks in negotiating a loan agreement and an EPC contract for a PPP concession agreement for a 4G highway project in Colombia.
– Participation in advising a Spanish construction company in a transaction to acquire a PPP concession contract for the construction and operation of a 4G highway project in Colombia.
– Advised in structuring a public-private partnership project to operate and maintain an airport in Palestina, Caldas.
– Advised Autopista Río Grande in executing the 5G public-private partnership concession contract for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the Sabana de Torres-Curumaní corridor, which crosses the departments of Santander and Cesar.
– Advised Autopista Magdalena Medio in the execution of the 5G public-private partnership concession contract for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the Puerto Salgar-Barrancabermeja corridor that crosses the departments of Cundinamarca, Boyacá, and Santander.
