Jorge Tirado has over thirteen years of experience advising clients in dispute resolution, government contracting, administrative, constitutional, mining, and energy law. He has experience in arbitration proceedings conducted under ICC and ICSID rules. He is an arbitrator of the Chambers of Commerce of Bogotá, Barranquilla, and Cartagena.
Before joining Rincón Castro Abogados as a partner at the end of 2022, Jorge was the National Public Procurement Agency General Director — Colombia Compra Eficiente. During his tenure, he contributed to adopting standard specifications in different sectors of the economy, generating competition, transparency, and optimization of public resources in government procurement.
In addition, he worked as an international associate at Clifford Chance LLP in Washington, D.C., on the international arbitration team. He also worked for 10 years in the public law and dispute resolution team of a prestigious law firm in Colombia. He is a professor of State Contracts and Administrative Law at the Universidad de los Andes, Universidad Javeriana, and Universidad Norte and is a regular lecturer on public law issues.
